In nutshell:

Botswana is a country located in the Southern Africa with a population of 2m. Botswana is not therefore too densely populated country and in fact it has many well-known natural conservation sites and national parks that attract 1-3 million tourists on yearly basis. However, despite the stable situation as an African country instead of tourism the commodity mining industry – especially diamond industry – is the biggest source of export for Botswana. The capital of Botswana is Gaborone, located in the southern part of the country.
Below are listed some of the most recommended destinations for the newlyweds who would like to consider this wonderful part of Africa as their honeymoon destination.

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

The Central Kalahari game Reserve (CKGR) is the largest and the most remotely situated reserve in Southern Africa. CKGR was originally established in 1961 in order to provide a sanctuary for the San where they could live their traditional way life without intrusion from outside world. CKGR is also the 2nd largest wildlife reserve in the world (52 800 sq kms.) The landscape mostly consists of Kalahari sand acacias, silver terminalia sandveldt, grasslands, occasional sand dunes and river valleys.

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

Makgadikgadi is an unique area of 12 000 sq kms in the Kalahari Basin. It is one of the only unique salt pans in the world with flat terrain and blue horizon that stretches as far as the eye can see. This area is very dry and extremely arid. Therefore, large mammals are absent to a great extent of the year. However, when it rains, one is able to see flamingos at Sowa and Nata Sanctuary. At that time the number of flamingos is in hundreds of thousands and this is a wonderful spectacle to witness in life.

Moremi Game Reserve

Moremi Game Reserve is one of the most important and popular National Park destinations in the whole of Africa. Moremi Game Reserve is also one of  the most well preserved reserves in africa according to the African Travek and Tourism Association (2008). Moremi Game Reserve has been established by the local residents concerned about the depletion of the wildlife in their ancestral lands over time. Thanks to Batawana people under the leadership of the deceased Chief Moremi III´s wife, Mrs. Moremi the preservation of this reserve had been established ever since 1963. Moremi Game Reserve – therefore – provides a romantic hideaway destination for the newlyweds in the heart of Southern Africa.
